Introducing a new Academic Simulation Series (3/5) : Entrepreneurial and business development

Four team members working around laptop

A new year inherently brings about new ideas, which can range from anything to changing a small element of one's personal life to more major changes, such as an awakening of the entrepreneurial spirit and starting a new business.

Turning Spirit into Success

Many business courses offer the complex theories behind starting a business as a unit, but applying those theories to a realistic startup environment is where true learning happens.

Realistic Meaning

Ideas often thought of for numerous years may suddenly start to take on a realistic meaning when students are forced to test their viability in a simulated market.

Bridging the gap between the "Big Idea" and the "Sustainable Business".

Following on from the previous units in the series, this simulation focuses on the agility required to launch and develop a business. It provocation students to develop their entrepreneurial spirit while maintaining a disciplined approach to business development.

Application of Theory

Students must move beyond just having an idea to understanding the mechanics of development. How do you find your market? How do you resource a growing entity? The simulation environment provides the data-driven feedback needed to refine these skills.

The transition from an idea to a realistic business venture requires more than spirit—it requires the commercial acumen to execute.
